Stanley Beaman & Sears wins Atlanta RE-DESIGN Competition!
After two rounds of presentation, study, and design production, we are more than thrilled to announce that Stanley Beaman & Sears has won the Atlanta City Gallery RE-DESIGN competition!
The project site of the former Atlanta Journal Constitution building at 72 Marietta Street is only a few blocks away from our office. It is a rare opportunity to work so close to home and on a site with such a rich history. While we understand some of the market forces and motivations for moving the newspaper offices and production out of downtown, we can’t help but feel a twinge of sadness when passing the largely empty building. We are architects and designers after all – it’s our job to think of buildings as important hubs of cultural activity.
To be selected to bring a second life to this Atlanta cornerstone is an honor and we are greatly looking forward to playing a part in its lively future.
